Vintage Zuni Multi-Stone Inlay Bolo Tie Indian Dancer Turquoise Lavonne Lalio
Vintage Zuni Multi-Stone Inlay Bolo Tie Indian Dancer Turquoise Lavonne Lalio
This is a fantastic smaller inlay bolo tie where the artist used channel inlay techniques to create an Indian dancer figure on a sterling silver base. The artist used mother of pearl, turquoise, yellow and brown shell, and coral across the bolo slide. Rather than silver dots as accents, the artist used silver loops to frame the dancer figure. Many of the inlaid shell pieces are hand carved.
There appears to be a small gemstone missing from the dancer's skirt, and one of the small turquoise pieces has a fissure (it is secure in its setting, however).
The bolo slide is 1 1/8" wide and 2" tall.
The brown leathers are about 42" long, including the length of the tips. The leather is 4 mm thick.
The silver tips are 1 3/4" long, each.
It weighs 21 g.
The artist's hallmark is "LL Zuni" on an affixed plate. This indicates Zuni silversmith Lavonne Lalio, who's known for her intricate inlay work on dancer motifs.
