Vintage Zuni Inlay Cuff Bracelet Heavy Gauge Apache Crown Dancer Tony Ohmsatte

This is an incredible sterling silver cuff bracelet with two channel inlay panels. The artist set the inlay panels flush in a heavy gauge bracelet, with the thickness peaking between the two panels. The inlay sections have a striking yellow mother of pearl (gold lip) base, in which the dancing figure is set. The figure is made from inlay pieces of turquoise, red coral, jet, dark shell, and what appears to be cream-colored coral. The lighter coral has been carved to achieve a fringe pattern on the dancers' skirts. The coral is also thicker than the rest of the inlay pieces, rising slightly above the base.

The bracelet is 1" wide. The Crown Dancer panels are 1" wide and 1  1/4" long.

The maximum thickness of the bracelet between the two panels is 1/4".

The inner circumference is 5  3/4" with an additional 1  1/8" wrist gap. It will fit up to a 6  7/8" wrist.

It weighs 64 g.

The inside of the cuff has been tested as sterling silver.

The artist's handscripted signature is "Tony O Zuni" indicating silversmith Tony Ohmsatte.

Please measure your wrist twice and know your proper size BEFORE purchasing this bracelet. Because this piece uses gemstone inlay, opening it up by hand could crack the silver or loosen the stone pieces. The same things can happen if you squeeze the bracelet too hard to make it smaller. This bracelet has been in a private collection from Arizona since the late1960's. This piece was likely created in the early 1960's and has very seldom been worn but has been displayed with other items in the collection.
