VTG Statement Pendant Old Blue Gem Turquoise Sterling Bench Beads T. Bahe Navajo
VTG Statement Pendant Old Blue Gem Turquoise Sterling Bench Beads T. Bahe Navajo
This is an INCREDIBLE vintage pendant attached to a double strand of handmade sterling bench (round) and melon (elongated) beads. The pendant is heavy gauge and hosts 8 gorgeous and good-sized blue turquoise stones that were sourced from the Old Blue Gem mine in Nevada. The stones are set in smooth bezels on a darkened silver base. Large silver dots, stamped silver dots, stamped "fan-like" elements add to the intrigue of the pendant. The bottom half of the pendant is framed with a silver curb that is also hand stamped.
From tip to tip, the necklaces are about 24" long. The round beads are 1/4" in diameter. The beads are strung on silver chain.
The pendant is about 2 1/4" wide and 3 1/2" tall.
The Old Blue Gem stones are variable in size, ranging from about 1 1/8" by 7/8" to 1/2" by 5/16".
The pendant and necklaces weigh a notable 164 g.
The pendant is signed "Tom Bahe", a very well regarded Navajo silversmith. Mr. Bahe passed away in 2006.
